Annonymous Child
This client started neurofeedback with complaints of anger outbursts, a lack of impulse control and sleeping issues, mostly difficulty falling asleep but occassionally waking at night. This client had been diagnosed with PANDAS and while neurofeedback does not cure PANDAS for this child it was a big piece in calming the brain so it could function better. Currently, after 15 sessions the anger outbursts have decreased from 3-4 large outbursts a week to maybe once a month. The impulse control is improving including arguing less with siblings and having better self control over all. The client is now able to participate in a full soccer practice and game where previously this was too long of an event for the client to stay engaged the whole time which was frustrating for the child. Around 10 sessions in the clients coordination had improved enough for them to ride a RipStick which they had been trying to learn for years with no success. There were also marked improvements in coordination during soccer games. Before neurofeedback this client struggled to fall asleep on a nightly basis talking and tossing and turning requiring a lot of parental support. Now, the client is able to lay down and fall asleep with little help.
